INGREDIENTS YOU'LL NEED

Granulated sugar

Baking powder

All purpose flour

Ground cinnamon

Ground cloves

Unsalted butter

Unsulphured molasses

Egg

Ground ginger

Baking soda

Place the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda and baking powder in a medium bowl and stir.  Set aside the bowl.

Mix the sugar with melted butter.  Then mix in the egg and the molasses.

Add the flour in 2-3 batches. You can start mixing with a whisk and then continue with a spoon or spatula.

Bake for 8-9 minutes until the cookies are slightly set. After you remove the cookies from the oven wait for 1-2 minutes and then using the back of a spoon, gently press to the sides that stay puffy.

Spread ⅔ of the mixture into an oven-proof dish.

Roll the dough into 2 tablespoon big balls  (40 grams).
