- 1000 ml (4 and ⅓ cups) milk
- 20 g (2 teaspoons) all-purpose flour
- 21 g (3 tablespoons) cornstarch
- 105 g (½ cup) granulated sugar
- 35 g (⅓ cup) cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons cognac or whiskey optional
Place the flour, cornstarch, sugar and cocoa powder into a medium saucepan and stir. Mix in the milk and whisk well.
Take the saucepan to the medium heat and whisk continuously for almost 10 minutes until the mixture thickens and starts to boil. As it boils, lower the heat and whisk the mixture for an extra 2 minutes to avoid any cornstarch-flour taste. Take the pudding from the heat and add the cognac/whiskey if using and whisk well.
Pour the pudding into the serving cups and let them cool for 1 hour at room temperature and then keep them in the refrigerator for almost 2 hours.
