INGREDIENTS YOU'LL NEED

Apples

Granulated sugar

Lemon juice

Eggs

Vanilla extract

All purpose flour

Butter

Milk

Baking powder

Cinnamon

Nutmeg

Prepare the crumbles:  Mix the flour, sugar, cinnamon in a small-medium bowl.   Add the melted butter.

Gently mix with a fork until  the mixture is crumbly.

Continue with the batter:  Chop the apples and mix with lemon juice.  Set aside.

Mix the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium bowl and set aside.

Whisk the sugar and eggs in a large bowl for almost a minute until combined well.

Mix in the butter, milk and vanilla extract.

Pour the wet ingredient mixture over the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.  Gently fold the apples into the batter.

Fill 12 paper liners that are placed into the muffin pan to the top with the batter and add the crumbles on top.

Bake for 22-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.  The toothpick that is inserted into the middle should come out clean.
