INGREDIENTS YOU'LL NEED

Prepare the crumbles:  Mix the flour, cinnamon and sugar in a small-medium bowl.   Add the melted butter and stir with a fork until it resembles crumbles.

Continue with the apple mixture:  Put the peeled, cored and chopped apples and cinnamon in a medium bowl and stir with a spoon. Set aside.

Place the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt (optional) in a medium bowl, stir with a whisk and set aside.

Whisk the sugar and eggs in a large bowl until just combined.

Mix in the butter, milk and vanilla extract.

Add the flour mixture over the wet mixture in 2 batches. Fold the apples with a spatula.

Pour the cake batter into the pan and add the crumbles on top.

Bake for 42-44 minutes or until a toothpick that is inserted into the center comes out clean. A few moist crumbs are fine.

You can eat it plain or add caramel sauce on top. Enjoy!
